Our second annual turtle walks will take place across the region during the peak nesting season for turtles in Ontario- and so the weeks when turtles are near and crossing the roads- the first two weeks of June: June 8 and June 15 .This year is the year of the Tartan Turtle. Prizes for the best costumes and the best posters too. There will lots of fun activities and offerings at the walks this year too\, and we will be bringing some of our live “teaching turtles” as our mascots! Stay tuned in at www.turtlewalk.ca

DESCRIPTION:Come out and meet the turtles. \nLearn about the life history of one of the oldest creatures on Earth. \nLearn how to identify Ontario turtles\, how to help a snapping turtle cross a road\, how to make a nest protector….and \nHear from special guests John and Jan Everett of the Long Point World Biosphere Reserve where the largest turtle underpass in Canada is located.  John and Jan will read from their book “Never Give Up” and do a special demonstration for kids to learn how to help turtles.
