All About Turtles

Turtles are ancient creatures which are sacred in cultures all over the planet. They are guardians of the purity of our waters, dispersers of seeds, and nutrient cyclers for shorelands. For millennia turtles have helped to keep ecosystems healthy so many other life forms could thrive, but now turtles need our help. As habitat loss, poaching, and road mortality have increased turtle populations have decreased. This is why they need our help, why we need Turtle Guardians!

By reading the resources on this page you will learn more about why turtles are important, how to identify them and more! PLEASE NOTE: these resources are the same for each of our Turtle Guardians Community Science Programs.
