Timothy
Timothy has been with us since 2016. He was adopted from Ontario's only turtle hospital, the OTCC, after a car injury left him disabled. Timothy lost the use of his back legs as his carapace was crushed by the weight of a vehicle.
Timmy does not like to be out of water and is very shy. He does swim very well and can move on land as he uses his tail as a third leg.
However, when we take him out, he is so scared of people that he often closes his eyes and pretends to be a rock. But if he has space to himself, and in the sun, he is very happy.
By Timothy's large size, about 25 lbs, we estimate he is over 80 years old- a guess for any common snapping turtle of his size that would be found in Ontario.
