Turtle Tunnel Workshops

Turtles take a long time to replace themselves in nature- up to 60 years. Also turtles take a long time to reach maturity to be able to preproduce. There are many threats that turtles face which are resulting in extensive population declines. Some threats include pet trades, poaching, persecution of snapping turtles, nest predation...and more. However, the largest threat to turtles today in Ontario is road-kills and injuries. We are pleased that you are interested in helping identify potential underpass and mitigation sites for turtles.

Before booking time for training and begin your excursion as a Tunnel Assessor, please register as a volunteer.

Tunnel Assessor Workshops are conducted in person. Please contact Leora Berman, at 705-457-1222 or email info@turtleguardians.ca to book this training.
