Meet the Hatchlings and Dip Into Forest Bathing!

August 18, 2024 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Have you ever met a bale of turtles? a clutch of hatchlings?

Drop in for our open house, meet and greet the hatchlings and the Turtle Guardians volunteers too! Refreshments and good vibes are found here!

Then, have you ever wondered what forest bathing (shinrin-yoku) is all about?

Join us later in the afternoon for an introduction to the Japanese practice that started in the 1980s to address worker burnout caused by the technological boom. Find out how forest bathing can be experienced locally in The Land Between. Learn about some of the wellness benefits of forest therapy and get a chance to try it for yourself. Certified Forest Therapy Guide Emma Rooney will lead the group on a guided opportunity to stretch your sensory awareness while deepening your connection with nature.

The even is geared to all ages. You are welcome to drop in to any portion of the day at any time and join the activities.

Volunteers are welcomed for free, and we have gifts for you too!

We are located at 6712 Gelert Road in Haliburton. Feel free to call the HQ if you have any questions at 705-457-1222.

It may be best to wear closed toed shoes to the event for our small forest bathing event. You may also want to bring a jacket depending on weather.

We hope you will support our work to save the turtles, and inspire kids, by donating at the door.
