Flora and Fauna

Flora and Fauna are Midland Painted Turtles, who were both left blind (and eyeless) from being hit by cars. Flora is also missing a right foot.

After recovering and being deemed unreleasable at the OTCC (the turtle hospital), they came to live with us in June of 2024.

Even though they are blind and cannot live in the wild, these ladies can still swim well and love to bask (mostly on top of each other). They are housed with Nimkii who is not blind, and who may help to orient them to the features of the tank as we know that turtles talk to one another.
