Jeremiah

JErein (3)

Jeremiah

Jeremiah has been with us since 2016. She was adopted from Ontario's only turtle hospital, the OTCC, after a car injury left her disabled. The carriage of the vehicle crushed her spine, and she lost the use of her back legs, and sustained some renal damage from the crushed vertebra. Because she snapped the car carriage in defense, she also lost a part of her beak. She spent four years in the hospital before she could be released to us.

We were told Jer was a boy, but after we took her in for x-rays the veterinarian saw that she had one egg left in her ovipositor. Her name suited her still, so we kept it.

Jeremiah is very friendly and missed people if she is left alone too long.

She loves her skateboard rides! These help her with cell-memory because Jeremiah is slowly, year by year, regaining the use of her back legs!
