Our studies have revealed that almost 40% of turtles have been lost in rural areas of Ontario's Highlands in the last decade alone. Currently we are Canada's third largest incubator. Now we will be creating an incubation centre and turtle nursery where we can overwinter hatchlings, reaching a size to ensure more survive to bolster populations.
